Midlands residents have a new place to pick up all things metal.

Metal Supermarkets, the world’s largest supplier of small-quantity metals, has opened its newest location in Columbia, led by franchise owner Dhaval Patel, according to a news release.

The premier metal supplier is a one-stop shop for local professionals, businesses and hobbyists alike, offering speed, variety and convenience, the release stated.

As the third Metal Supermarkets location in South Carolina, Metal Supermarkets Columbia, offers 8,000 types, shapes and grades of metal, cut to each customer’s exact specifications, according to the release. Metal Supermarkets stores specialize in the sales and distribution of a wide range of metal, including hot and cold rolled steel, aluminum, stainless, copper, brass and more. Various shapes such as bar, tube, angle, channel, sheet and plate are stocked to meet the needs of a wide and diverse variety of customers that require these essential products.

Patel brings expertise as a design engineer in various industrial markets which will allow him to provide advice and expert service, helping customers find the right metal solutions for their projects, the release stated.

“I’m eager to put my engineering education and metals knowledge to the test by helping customers with their varied projects,” said Patel in the release. “Coming from a business family background, I understand customer service and look forward to effectively serving the metal industry needs of businesses and consumers in Columbia.”

Metal Supermarkets Columbia will service the Columbia area including Fairfield, Kershaw, Lexington, Richland and Saluda Counties, in addition to surrounding areas.

Each Metal Supermarkets location provides solutions to customers’ metal needs in both the business-to-business and business-to-consumer categories, the release stated. With a diverse product base and no-minimum order quantity, Metal Supermarkets has earned long-lasting relationships with customers as a result of delivering a world-class customer experience.
