Foothills Community Health Care will have a grand opening for its new health center on Pearman Dairy Road on April 8. The existing Anderson location on 1100 W. Franklin St. has closed its doors, and patients began going to the new office April 1.
“We are excited to officially welcome our staff, patients, and esteemed guests to our new site,” CEO Mark Rajkowski said in the release. “Our grand opening event on April 8 will allow us to show guests the new site and reaffirm the importance of supporting your local community health centers. With the new location, we can also introduce a whole new slate of services, including expanded pediatric care and, in the future, dental services. It’s a very exciting time of growth for our health center.”
Foothills Community Health Care partnered with Trehel construction firm and Forma Health Design Collaborative to repurpose space in the Lakeside Shopping Center. Its new location will offer not only their existing medical services, including family medicine, women’s health, physicals, immunizations, lab services, a pharmacy, and more, but will also introduce a designated pediatric care space, the release stated. Students from Southwood School of the Arts painted murals for the pediatric rooms to provide a welcoming, comforting space for young patients, while a pediatrician has also joined the medical staff full-time.
Foothills Community Health Care is one of more than 20 federally qualified community health centers in South Carolina. Community health centers are community-based, non-profit organizations that provide comprehensive and high-quality health care in a culturally appropriate manner, the release stated. Foothills Community Health Care provides a continuum of care for people of all ages, from newborns to the elderly. They also offer on-site pharmacies, telehealth visits for established patients, and a Mobile Medical Unit that brings health care into the community. Foothills Community Health Care has three convenient locations in Anderson, Clemson and Easley.

The event will then be open to the public between noon and 2 p.m. as Foothills Community Health Care staff will give tours, meet the community, and answer questions, the release stated.
