A Montgomery, Ala.-based architecture and engineering firm is opening its fourth location in South Carolina.

Architecture and engineering firm Goodwyn Mills Cawood is further investing in the Carolinas with the addition of its Rock Hill office, according to a news release. The firm is no stranger to the Carolinas with offices in, Greenville, Charleston and Columbia, as well as Charlotte.

Located approximately 20 miles south of Charlotte, Rock Hill is one of the largest cities in South Carolina and the only major South Carolina city in the Charlotte metropolitan area, the release stated. The new office will allow GMC to better serve existing and new clients within this region.

Tripp Barrineau, GMC’s vice president of landscape architecture and a Rock Hill resident, will lead the office, the release stated.

“We’ve seen a tremendous amount of growth in the Rock Hill and York County market, much of which can be attributed to the quality of life, jobs and recreation opportunities of this region,” Barrineau said in the release. “This new office provides us an opportunity to grow our team so that we can continue to support growth in the community through the services GMC provides.”

The firm is already partnering with the City of Rock Hill on a notable community project, having recently been awarded the master plan for Rock Hill’s Southside Regional Park, according to the release. The approximately 88-acre public park is currently in the design phase with much anticipation for the site work to begin later this year.

The GMC Rock Hill office is located at 312 Pendleton Street, Suite C, Rock Hill.
